Why Syngulis is Different
What Syngulis aims to do is return the power of personal identity to the owners of that identity, to confer control over it’s use to those owners and the data that is collected by that use. This is far too often not the case in technology today where one’s identity is just a means to an end for the applications and services providing them. The absence of a vehicle that doesn’t assert the Faustian bargain of “free” services in exchange for unlimited use of one’s personal identity, and its many facets, has been to the detriment of users. Syngulis hopes to revolutionize that dichotomy by creating a platform that allows one to not only use their identity as they see fit, but simply and securely while making it far more powerful and capable since users can be confident the host of that identity is working on their behalf and not its own.
Unique about Syngulis is how it ensures the users of its platform are confident Syngulis is working on their behalf and ensuring their clients, those users, are in full control of their identity.
The first is that Syngulis is an Identity Management Corporation (IMC), a form of a Public Management Corporation, corporations where the articles of incorporation create a binding agreement between a class of share and the corporation that assures the corporation has a duty to promote the interests of those shareholders. When a client joins the platform, they are issued a share in the corporation, an ID class share for IMCs, a nominal value share that aligns the corporation’s interests with their clients since they are now a shareholder in that corporation.
The second is Syngulis’ use of Autonomous Virtual Identities (AVI) to store all user data and logic. These AVIs are hosted by Syngulis but not owned by them, they are owned solely by the clients who have the ability to do what they see fit. AVIs are created using an Open Specification format that ensures other IMCs can host them and allow easy portability. The advantages to this model are numerous, from allowing hosting of the many different types of data inherent in an digital identity, to adding on a host of capabilities that the client can take advantage of in enhancing that identity. What Syngulis does, in addition to hosting AVIs, is add layers of capabilities and services to enhance the AVIs.
Syng Personal Identity Platform
Syng is the core of the Syngulis solutions, it furnishes a number of identity capabilities:
- Identity Management | Making managing identity simple and secure
- Identity Hosting | Provide hosting for AVIs, protecting them and providing basic services
- Identity Essentials | Provides a variety of applications and services that enhance and empower client identities
- Identity Access | Furnishes interfaces via APIs and PAPIs (Application Programming Interface and Personal Application Programming Interfaces),
- Partner Access | Offers access to AVIs to partners and others with this key caveat: the client controls the interaction. If a client wants no relationship with a partner or other organization, or limits to that relationship, they have the option to do so. It is always an opt-in relationship for the client and one that is controlled by them. This is true at any time the identity is hosted by Syngulis. The power rests with the client and not anyone else to determine the nature of how their identity is shared.
